Ancient Arts & Handicrafts Center
Giza Pyramids Plateau
The center lies midway between a papyrus gallery and a documentation center, facing the Giza pyramids. The functions and spaces of the center are distributed on three stories in such a way that makes the visitors stand in awe of the pyramids. The form is composed of 3 main strips pointing to the three pyramids.

Visitors can access the center through the entrance at the zero level. Unlike most of the projects, they will continue their journey inside the center going down as if they are excavating for buried antiquities and monuments, and for respecting the presence of such magnificent construction, the Great Pyramids of Giza.

The center is divided mainly into 6 main zones; galleries & exhibition zone, library & virtual reading zone, the study center zone, administrative zone, professional workshops zone and visitors interactive workshops. On the first floor, visitors can have access to the galleries, main waiting lounge and study center. On the second level, visitors can find the galleries’ extension and the study center’s extension. While on the third floor, visitors will enjoy the experience of creating ancient arts & handicrafts, and getting to know the tools and methods used during the ancient Egyptian era.
Users will experience for the first time, a hologram display inside the galleries which will allow them to watch ancient antiquities, that could not be found in Egypt, in a virtual format. This will allow the country to compromise the loss of some antiquities. Besides, the hologram gallery will be used to tell stories about the ancient Egyptians in an interactive way that makes visitors excited to spend more time inside the gallery zone.
The center is considered to be the bridge that links the past and the future. It allows the rebirth of the past in a very futuristic way that adapts with today’s way of thinking and life aspects, and gives the chance for people from all over the world to experience and interact with the ancient Egyptian culture.
